The PLF Classroom: Hands-On Learning in an Inclusive Setting

One of the unique aspects of Promise Landing Farm is our interactive and educational learning space, known as the PLF Classroom. This hands-on environment is designed to be fully inclusive, catering to the diverse needs and abilities of our riders. Throughout the barn, we have several educational spaces equipped with posters, horsemanship information, interactive models, toys, and books to support various learning styles.

Our staff, instructors, and volunteers play a crucial role in helping our riders thrive. They are dedicated to fostering a sense of respect and care for our animals, which is why we have incorporated "on the ground" horsemanship lessons into our therapeutic riding program. Students participate in grooming and tacking their horses before riding and in cooling them off after lessons. These activities not only teach valuable skills but also build strong bonds between the riders and the horses.

Additionally, our Stable Masters program offers participants the opportunity to delve deeper into specific aspects of horse care. We host various clinics and demonstrations on the farm, providing further education and hands-on experiences. Our outdoor spaces, featuring gardens, wooded trails, and a small marsh, offer a unique setting for learning about horticulture, ecosystems, and local wildlife.

At Promise Landing Farm, we believe in the transformative power of equine-assisted learning. By creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported, we help our riders develop important life skills, build confidence, and form lasting connections with our horses and with each other.
