With a forecast of thunderstorms projected for the afternoon, Adaptive Maryland Day 2025 (AMD 2025) carried uncertainty for attendance and planned activities. But, by luck or fate, all the positive energies of this event managed to stave off the rain and we enjoyed our BEST and most engaging Adaptive Maryland Day to date!

25+ vendors joined us to celebrate and serve the disability community, and we welcomed almost 300 visitors to enjoy the resources and entertainment provided by the incredible partners of this event! Chimes International partnered with Promise Landing Farm as Title Sponsor for AMD 2025, making the success of this day possible—along with the incredible sponsors at D.R. Horton, Georgetown Psychology, Parks and Recreation MNCPPC and Teddy’s Team.

Adaptive Maryland Day is more than just an event, it’s a movement. Thank you to all who came out to Promise Landing Farm on May 4th and experienced a fest’ unlike the rest, and enjoyed relevant and remarkable resources tailored to those with disabilities, their caregivers and professionals within this inspiring community. AMD showcases the local programs, services, recreational activities and supporters of adaptive initiatives throughout the state. While the targeted audience is the visitors, AMD also serves as a networking opportunity for the various agencies partnering for the event, to facilitate collaboration on impactful and creative efforts serving their common audience.

Though vendor alley had to be moved inside due to the forecast, it didn’t limit the impressive activities our partners had prepared. Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating presented on water safety (such a critical topic in our region this time of year!) while Caring Canines mingled through the crowd to welcome visitors with wagging tails. Visitors showed off their athletic skills at Parks and Recreation’s axe throwing tunnel, and tried their hand-eye coordination with JTCC’s racket and ball game. Promise Landing hosted a grooming station, make-your-own hobby horse craft station, and even a hobby horse obstacle course! Performances by JAM and a fitness class provided by Spirit Club Foundation got everyone up and moving, and Clementine the Clown and Bay Dee Jays had attendees beaming with smiles and dance moves.

Friends of Adaptive Maryland Day who partnered with Promise Landing Farm include Southern Maryland Community Resources, Chesapeake Recreational Adaptive Boating, Archdiocese of Washington Office of Deaf and Disability Ministry, United Community Supports of Maryland, Gigi’s Playhouse, Helping Hands Family Autism Services, People on the Go, Maryland ABLE, JTCC, and Melwood's Camp Accomplish.
Promise Landing Farm thanks everyone who supported and attended Adaptive Maryland Day 2025, and especially our comrades in serving the disability community here in Maryland. We hope visitors found AMD to be engaging, educational, and empowering.
