Promise Landing Farm

at the Melwood Recreation Center

Three red barns at a horse farm

At the end of 2021, Promise Landing Farm teamed up with Melwood, a leading employer and advocate for people with disabilities, to have PLF assume leadership of equestrian programming at the Melwood Recreation Center in Nanjemoy, MD. This collaboration allows both organizations to focus on their strengths, making it possible to serve more people more effectively.

PLF’s year-round equine-assisted services, including riding lessons and ground-based horsemanship, are now available at the Melwood Recreation Center in Nanjemoy in addition to PLF Headquarters in Upper Marlboro.

Horses will continue to be an important part of Melwood’s Camp Accomplish, Access Adventures, and Operation Tohidu programs, with PLF facilitating the equine portion of those programs.
